Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino has selected Younes Kaboul as his captain for the foreseeable future.
The French centre back will be supported by compatriot Hugo Lloris and ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Pochettino told the club's official website:
"Younes has shown me all the values needed to be a captain.
"He has the character to lead this team as well as the respect of his teammates. Hugo and Ade will be vice-captains and both of them, along with Younes, possess tremendous experience and have all shown a great attitude and leadership."
The confirmation of Kaboul as captain comes as no surprise as the centre back is not only one of Tottenham's longest serving players - even with his brief spell at Portsmouth sandwiched in between two spells at White Hart Lane - but has led Spurs out in each of his appearances this season.
"I am delighted to have been given this responsibility," Kaboul said. "To follow in the
footsteps of some of the legendary captains that have represented this football club is a fantastic honour. It is a great achievement for me on a personal level and I hope to help lead this team to great things in the future."
Fellow first choice players Lloris and Adebayor will make sure there is always a French speaking voice leading the players.
