LVG Orders Manchester United stars to take English Lessons

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has ordered five of his players to take up English lessons in a bid to improve communication amongst his new-look squad.

Summer signings Angel di Maria, Marcos Rojo, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera have had two English lessons a week arranged for them, according to the Daily Mail, while Antonio Valencia has also been told to improve his language skills - despite having arrived in England back in 2006.

Valencia has been in England eight years
Valencia joined the Red Devils in 2009 from Wigan Athletic, but the Ecuador international’s English skills have failed to impress Van Gaal, who is keen for every member of his squad to feel comfortable speaking the same language.
It’s understood that Falcao and Herrera speak better English than Di Maria and Rojo - this has also been evident by interviews conducted since they joined United - and will join goalkeeper David de Gea in intermediate classes over the forthcoming weeks.

Van Gaal impressed by Falcao's English
Indeed, Van Gaal even encouraged journalists to acknowledge Falcao’s impressive English during last week’s press conference.
"What do you think about his [Falcao's] English? Because I had the same situation in Spain,” the veteran Dutch coach asked reporters. "In my first year I spoke English, in my second year I spoke Spanish. He's come here and he's speaking English for you."
Falcao and Rojo are expected to make their Manchester United debuts later today against Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford.
