Spurs announced the Argentinian as their new manager earlier today, and he is expected to get down to business immediately.
Tottenham will hand new manager Mauricio Pochettino £50 million to splash in the summer transfer market, according to the Daily Telegraph.
While part of his role will be getting the best out of the seven players Spurs signed last year for a combined fee of more than £100 million, he is expected to be handed the money to improve his new squad.
The Telegraph put that figure at £50 million, and Pochettino could well use that money to raid his former club, Southampton.
Striker Jay Rodriguez and midfielder Adam Lallana are both said to be targets for the former Espanyol boss, while Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi is also believed to be on Tottenham's radar, as is QPR forward Loic Remy.
Along with incomings, there are likely to be a few familiar faces leaving White Hart Lane too, with defender Michael Dawson heading towards the exit. Steven Caulker, who left Spurs for Cardiff last year, could be his replacement with the Telegraph claiming that Tottenham have a buy-back option on him.
Pochettino replaces Tim Sherwood in the hot seat at White Hart Lane. The former Tottenham midfielder, who guided the north London club to a sixth place finish in the Premier League, departed earlier this month having replaced Andre Villas-Boas in December.
