Former Man Utd star, Cristiano Ronaldo thanks Rooney [MUST READ]

Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked Wayne Rooney for his message of support before last weekend’s Champions League final, with the Real Madrid superstar conceding the days since the victory in Lisbon have been ‘crazy’.

Real Madrid finally achieved the coveted La Decima triumph with a 4-1 extra time win over city rivals Atletico at the Estadio da Luz, during which Ronaldo completed the scoring with a penalty in the final minute.

While it was a 10th European victory for Real Madrid, it was a second in the career of Ronaldo, with his maiden Champions League clinched with Manchester United six years ago. Ronaldo scored for Manchester United that night against Chelsea, with the club emerging victorious in Russia via a penalty shootout.

Prior to the meeting with Atletico, meanwhile, Rooney urged his former Old Trafford teammate to ‘remember Moscow’ - and it was advice that seemed to work.

Having finally recovered from days of celebration in Madrid, Ronaldo tweeted the following back to Rooney: “Thanks for the support @WayneRooney. Crazy days these last ones!”

Ronaldo and Rooney spent five years together at Manchester United, reaching the final of the Champions League in consecutive seasons, with the former departing for Real Madrid shortly after the defeat to Barcelona in Rome in 2009.
