Arsenal have been told they must pay £25 million to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata this summer, according to reports in Spain cited by The Metro.


21-year-old Morata, who joined Los Blancos from local rivals Getafe in 2008, is one of European football's brightest young talents but is evidently struggling to find a consistent role in the club's extremely impressive attacking set-up.

With the divisive figure of Karim Benzema appearing to thrive alongside the considerable threats of Cristiano Ronaldo and summer signing Gareth Bale, Morata - who boasts an extraordinarily good goalscoring record for Spain's U21 team - has been limited to just 13 appearances in La Liga so far this season.

Such a lack of regular action has seen Morata linked with a move away from Real Madrid, with reports earlier this week suggesting that Arsenal were looking to resurrect a January move for the player and that they had already sounded out his representatives.
Just whether Arsenal will be willing to pay £25 million to sign Morata, however, remains to be seen.
