Rewind the calendar to last year's January transfer window, the winger from Crystal Palace was on the radar of the elite clubs. Until ex-Manchester manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, signed Wilfried Zaha for £15 million.
Zaha was the driving force behind Crystal Place's entry into the top tier of English football. He has, however, been afforded minimal game time since completeing his permanent transfer to Old Trafford.
It is understandable that David Moyes picked experienced players ahead of him but given the phenomenal impact 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj has made on the team, Zaha should also have been given the opportunity to show his talent and live up to his potential.
Zaha was Ferguson's last signing, and it could be a great bargain given he has the space and game time to grow. Considering the impact he had in 2012-13, making 10 assists and scoring eight goals, the future would appear to be bright.
He should take a page out of Romelu Lukaku's play book. The Chelsea striker Lukaku has not been given his chance at Stamford Bridge but has enhanced his reputation with fruitful loan spells at West Brom and Everton.
Zaha is surely set to go out on loan this transfer window, with his old club Crystal Palace leading the race. A solid performance on his loan spell away from Old Trafford could determine his long-term future with the Red Devils.
