Manchester United came from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 win at Hull City on Thursday with Hull
defender James Chester scoring a decisive own goal in the 66th minute.
Chester put the Tigers ahead in the fourth minute with a close-range header, while David Meyler made it 2-0 to Hull in the 13th minute with a deflected effort that eluded goalkeeper David De Gea.
But United's response was swift and Chris Smalling brought the Red Devils to within a goal in the 19th minute when he headed home Wayne Rooney's free kick. Rooney found the net himself seven minutes later to level the
contest with a stunning volley from 20 yards that left goalkeeper Allan McGregor with no chance.
Hull rebounded and had the better of the play for a spell in
the second half and nearly regained the lead with a header from Alex Bruce that struck the woodwork.
But United completed its comeback in the 66th minute when Ashley Young's cross was redirected by Chester into his own net, giving United a fifth straight win in all competitions.
