Manchester United make €50m Real Madrid star No.1 target

Manchester United are readying an offer of €21million for Real Madrid star Angel di Maria in January, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.

The publication, citing Spanish source Mundo Deportivo, claims that Di Maria is still unsettled in Madrid following the departure of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea and that David Moyes is more than ready to take advantage of the situation by making him his priority target.

The Red Devils boss is keen to strengthen his side in the winter transfer window, and has a war-chest of up to £100million to spend on making the squad Sir Alex Ferguson left him his own.

With that in mind, reports in Spain state that United are readying a proposal of €21million to offer to Los Blancos, in the hope that with Gareth Bale finally starting to settle in, they will be willing to cash in on the Argentina international.

However Di Maria is valued at around €50million by his current club, which could spark a negotiation process if the Premier League champions are serious about signing him.

On top of that is the fact that Carlo Ancelotti may be unwilling to risk the backlash of the fans that may be forthright if a sale is agreed, particularly while the wounds from Mesut Ozil's departure as still very much fresh.
