We take a look at 10 stars
who are out of contract next summer
This summer's window has been
closed for just over a month now and speculation has already started over who
will move clubs in January.
Their list includes World
renowned stars including the likes of John Terry and starlets such as Adnan
Januzaj, who is just starting to forge a career in the beautiful game.
We have decided to pick the 10 best players who will be allowed
to move clubs next July if they do not extend their contract between now and
the end of the season.
10. Victor Valdes (Barcelona)
The Barcelona shot stopper
has made it clear that he is ready to leave the Camp Nou next summer.
Recent reports have suggested
Valdes is closing in on a move to Chelsea but that does not seem a viable
option for the 31-year-old, with the experienced Petr Cech still impressing and
Thibaut Courtois likely to return to Stamford Bridge next summer.
9. Michael Carrick
(Manchester United)
The Red Devils star has
become United's most consistent midfielder following the departure of Paul
Scholes.
Carrick has started the
current campaign off in poor form but last season's performance surely make him
worthy of a new deal.
8. Tom Ince (Blackpool)
The winger was linked with a
number of Premier League clubs over the course of the summer but decided to
stay to help his dad - Paul - win promotion to the top flight.
Ince would be a fantastic acquisition
for any Premier League club as he is comfortable with both feet and can score
goals from midfield.
7. Younes Kaboul (Tottenham)
The France international is
one of the best defenders in the Premier League - when fit.
Kaboul has lost his place in
the heart of Tottenham's defence while he has been in the treatment room and it
seems unlikely that he will be able to dislodge the partnership of Michael
Dawson and Jan Vertonghen.
6. Bacary Sagna (Arsenal)
The Arsenal right-back was
one of the first names on Arsene Wenger's team sheet a couple of seasons ago
but he seems to have gone backwards ever since.
Wenger may want to give Carl
Jenkinson a chance to impress - which would leave Sagna free to find a new
club.
5. Adnan Januzaj (Manchester
United)
David Moyes will be pulling
out all the stops to get United's latest starlet to sign a new deal at Old
Trafford.
A number of clubs have
already expressed an interest in the 18-year-old - with Juventus said to be at
the front of the queue.
4. John Terry (Chelsea)
Mr. Chelsea is unlikely to
want to play for another team but he may have to if Jose Mourinho deems him
surplus to requirements.
Mourinho is going to have to
start playing David Luiz soon or risk losing him to Barcelona - and Gary Cahill
is about to his peak. The chance of Terry leaving Stamford Bridge remains
unlikely but anything is possible in football.
3. Andrea Pirlo (Juventus)
The Juventus midfielder is
one of those players who seems to get better with age.
Pirlo would be a great
addition to any side - even if he is in his mid-30s.
2. Nemanja Vidic (Manchester
United)
The Red Devils captain has
been continuously linked with a move away from United since blossoming into one
of Europe's best centre-backs.
Juventus are said to be keen
on signing the Serbian defender but surely Moyes will do all he can to convince
the 31-year-old to stay at Old Trafford.
1. Robert Lewandowski
(Dortmund)
The Polish striker could
cause a riot next summer if he doesn't agree to join a club before then.
It seemed certain that
Lewandowski would join Bayern Munich but seems to have gone cold, leaving
Europe's top clubs to scrap for his signature.
